Description: Our refining client was looking to expand their product offerings to include on spec Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel. Vorteil assessed the feasibility of the project, and is now in the process of getting the unit completed.
Full Plant Revamp, 2023-25

Description: This midstream client was suffering from a unit operating at half of its nameplate capacity. Vorteil's team first executed a feasibility study. Once the client decided to move forward, we implemented a turnkey project, resulting in a 158% capacity increase.
Biogas Upgrader, 2023-25

Scope: Detailed Design, Fabrication
Description: We built a 5-skid biogas upgrader for use in the Texas Panhandle. The overall plant turns dairy manure into biogas for consumer use. Our upgrader skids cleanse the gas of contaminants such as O2, CO2, H2O, and sulfur. Our scope included taking the client's 30% design and making it buildable. We also fabricated, assembled, and hosted the FAT for the final product.
Emergency Condenser Replacement, 2024

Description: Our refining client suffered an emergency outage during Christmas 2023 due to ruptured tubes in a heat exchanger. Our team worked through the holidays to locate a suitable exchanger. For condensing service, we needed to rotate this unit's bundle 90 degrees to enable proper draining. Vorteil made the modifications, R-stamped the vessel, and got it into service just after the new year to get the client back on line.
Fuel Terminal and Tank Farm, 2021-23

Description: Vorteil is currently in the process of completing this fuel terminal in the western United States, complete with rail unloading, truck loading, metering, storage tanks, and custom in-house pump trailers.
Crypto-Mining ISO Containers, 2021-22

Description: Vorteil has experience with high-volume production of Crypto-Mining ISO containers with orders ranging from 15 to 180 units.
Custom Dumping Wagon, 2021
Size: $50k – $250k
Scope: Engineering, Design
Description: A heavy equipment sales and rental company needed a custom-designed prototype chassis to use an existing stockpile of dumping beds. The goal was to take disused beds from articulated haulers, mount them on the custom chassis, and then use the new wagons in agricultural settings. This client struggled to find a firm with the horsepower to take on this custom work. As of now, the prototype is in testing and the client is preparing to bring the custom wagon to full production with Vorteil's help.
Frac Tank Installation at Fuel Terminal, 2022-23

Description: Vorteil is currently providing advisory project management services for the installation of 18 frac tanks for jet fuel service at a fuel terminal in the Western United States, including structural and civil work to prepare installation on-site.

Control Tower Pump Replacement, 2021

Description: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had an underperforming pump in Beaumont, TX, and reached out to Vorteil Mechanical to solve the problem. We first performed a review of the existing facility, including reviewing the system documentation, walking down the system in person, and discussing problems and requests from the pump skid operators. With this information, we procured and installed a pump skid, achieving flawless operation in a matter of days with nearly no system down-time.
Shop Mezzanine Rating, 2022

Description: An industrial client on the Houston Ship Channel needed an accurate load rating on their shop mezzanine. Vorteil delivered, conducting a site walkdown to assess the member sizes and spacing, and performing hand-calculations as well as an FEA analysis to determine average and point loads in a report eventually used for insurance pricing of the facility.
